Sydney Zoo Discount Tickets: How to Save Up to 65%
Sydney Zoo tickets aren't cheap. $70 at the gate for one adult, or $220 for a family of four. YIKES.
And unlike Taronga Zoo, discount deals for Sydney Zoo are surprisingly hard to find. After way too much searching, I found a way to save 30% on adult tickets and 65% on child tickets, even on the day.
Here's how.

1. The hack: buy tickets on Klook
Klook is a travel booking site where you can book attractions, hotels and more. That's where I found Sydney Zoo tickets for $49 for adults and $14 for kids. That's 30% off for adults and 65% off for kids!

Under 2s are free, so you only need to buy tickets for kids aged 2 and over.
You can buy on Klook the same day you want to visit, and the voucher is usually valid for 6–12 months. Just check the current T&Cs when booking.
When I went, I just scanned the ticket at the door - no need to line up at the service desk.

The catch: Like tickets bought directly from the zoo, Klook tickets are non-refundable. But because the voucher isn't locked to a date, you can just go another day if plans change. Get tickets here.
2. Family of four? Check the bundle first
Sydney Zoo is currently running a family bundle for 2 adults + 2 kids. At the time of writing, it's $110 on their website.
I ran the numbers, and the same four tickets on Klook come to $113.40, even with my discount code. So if you've got two adults and two kids aged 2+, grab the bundle.
But if one of your kids is under 2, they're free, so you only need three tickets. Book on Klook with code HAXYOURLIFE, and it comes to $100.80, cheaper than the bundle. (That's with the 10% new-customer discount. If you've used Klook before, you'll get 3% off instead, but Klook still wins.)
3. Going more than once? Look at an annual pass
If your kids are zoo-obsessed (or you just need somewhere to burn off energy every school holidays), the Unlimited Pass could be worth a look.
It gives you 12 months of entry, plus 10% off food, drinks, animal encounters and the gift shop.
Bonus hack: Buy the pass at the start of the school holidays and you've got 12 months to use it.

Pro tip: If you're planning to visit a few times a year, check the annual pass price too. Going to more than one attraction? It's also worth looking at a Sydney Attraction Pass or Klook Sydney Pass, as bundled attraction passes can work out cheaper if you're planning several days out.
A quick note on prices
These were the best prices I could find when I wrote this article. Deals, cashback rates and promo codes change all the time, so double-check the final price and T&Cs before you pay.
Conclusion
A day at the zoo with kids is a full-blown operation: snacks, sunscreen, someone needing the toilet the second you arrive. You've got enough to juggle without paying full price at the gate too.
So before you hit checkout, it’s worth checking if you can save a little more using the tips above. Probably not enough to pay for everything the kids want from the gift shop, but I'll take it.
